The non-linear superposition principle and the Wei–Norman method

چکیده
Group theoretical methods are used to study some properties of the Riccati equation, which is the only differential equation admitting a nonlinear superposition principle. The Wei–Norman method is applied for obtaining the associated differential equation in the group SL(2,R). The superposition principle for first order differential equation systems and Lie-Scheffers theorem are also analysed from this group theoretical perspective. Finally, the theory is applied in the solution of second order differential equations like time independent Schrödinger equation.

Blast vibration modeling using linear superposition method
A linear superposition method was used for modeling the time history of the production blast vibrations and optimizing the blast sequence to reduce vibration levels in Sar-Cheshmeh copper mine, Kerman, Iran. A single-hole blast for modeling and two double-hole blasts with time delays of 25 and 65 ms between two holes for modeling validation were carried out. The generated vibrations were measur...
متن کاملAn Innovative Method for The Analysis of Structures with Tension-only Members
Due to their dual behavior under tension and compression, structures with tension-only members show non-linear behavior. To analize such structures, it is necessary to use a nonlinear analysis scheme. Nonlinear analysis methods generally use gradual loading techniques with/without modification of stiffness matrix of the structure. These methods, in addition to being time consuming algorithms, a...

متن کاملNon Uniform Rational B Spline (NURBS) Based Non-Linear Analysis of Straight Beams with Mixed Formulations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed traditionally using conventional finite element basis functions (i.e., cubic Hermite, equi-spaced Lagrange interpolation functions, or spectral/hp Legendre functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, tota...
متن کاملSeparation of Reflection Components by Kernel Independent Component Analysis
When we view a scene through transparent glass, the image is a linear superposition of two images, a real image observed through a glass and a virtual image reflected on it. We can separate the reflections by a polarization and Independent Component Analysis (ICA). Since the image observed through digital camera is non-linearly transformed by gamma correction etc, it may cause error in image pr...
